Back to work ↗Maintenance Management System
A custom maintenance-management system designed around real building-facilities workflows, server infrastructure and mobile field use.
Context
The engagement with Lian Azin Energy began as a corporate website project and grew into a broader technology relationship around facilities maintenance operations.
Problem
The organization needed a more structured way to manage maintenance and repair operations across building facilities and field work.
Constraints
The system had to match real facility-maintenance workflows, support field use and remain practical for a team operating across software and physical infrastructure.
Decisions
Treat the engagement as an operational system rather than a website extension; design workflows first, keep server responsibility explicit and make the companion mobile experience part of the system design.
Build
The solution covered workflow and capability design, technical architecture, server selection and setup, and the functional design of an Android application. Part of the implementation was delivered with another developer.
Result
The engagement continued for roughly two to three years and evolved from initial delivery into ongoing technology consulting and system development.
Lessons
Long-lived business software improves when process design, infrastructure and the people using the system are considered together from the beginning.
